n one of the previous issues, we wrote about a wonderful car
sound festival that took place in Mahmutlar a year ago. Our
correspondent was pleasantly surprised by the scope and quality
Iof the event. Trust me, it is not that easy to surprise him: he has
been providing coverage of auto shows, rides and other auto events
in Russia and a considerable part of Europe for a dozen years. One
of the most surprising discoveries then was that there were a sufficient
number of car enthusiasts in the modest provincial resort of Alanya,
so that the event was in no way inferior to any European one.
But it was during the pandemic, at that time not everyone has
recovered after a forced downtime. Frankly, not all studios have
successfully survived such a test. 2022, the year of the record-
breaking tourist season, promised to be even brighter. And this
promise was fulfilled. Despite the foul weather - the gala concert on
the first day had to be canceled due to rain - the event took place
and its scale overlapped the previous one. 3 TUNUNG FEST is the
main auto event of the year on the scale of Antalya province and,
possibly, on the entire Turkish Mediterranean coast.
First of all, the site was several times larger, and the number of
visitors and participants was such that a long traffic jam of cars,
motorcycles and scooters formed at the entrance! This only happened
at the Bike-Show in Shchyolkovo at the beginning of the 2000s.
Car sound is always loud, and therefore the choice of location
- a secluded forest park on the outskirts of Avsallar district was not
accidental. It was not easy to get there without a car, and why
should the non-motorist stare at all this splendor? This is where
the connoisseurs gather. Only those who are in the know have a
“charged” car or are going to “charge” it. The fact is that this is not
just a vanity fair, but quite specific proposals from various auto-tuning
companies among which the Mahmutlar ADT Auto Garage stood
out noticeably at least because it was the host and organizer of the
festival.
However, there were enough dreamers here too. Especially
among young people, teenagers and people at the tender age for
whom it’s still too early to get even category A driver’s license. They
came here in large numbers to get closer to their dream on bicycles,
on the back seats of motorcycles of older brothers and sisters.
The event is not purely touristic. Buses from hotels do not go here.
You need to know where you are going and, most importantly, why.
So why? First of all, it’s fun! Just like on the famous street of bars on a
weekend evening: loud music sounds from everywhere, girls dance,
men applaud, the atmosphere of an incendiary party stretched for
a day. Second, it’s very insightful. If you wanted to charge your car,
but did not know how, just ask, they will be happy to tell you. But the
truth is that the knowledge of Turkish is a must. The event has not yet
become international. But maybe that’s just for now.
