In addition, learning new and interesting information
gives our brain a lot of pleasure and stimulates the
production of happiness hormones. This has already
been proven by scientists. I'm always learning new
things myself and I get a thrill out of it. And my field
of interest is not limited to the subject matter. In one
day I could listen to Drobyshevsky's podcasts on
anthropology, or Maciech's lectures on the history of
religion (I recommend both, by the way).
RC: What are you working on now?
AL: It's my favourite thing, writing a script for a
comedy series about the adventures of expats in
Mahmutlar. There are several protagonists who have
moved to Alanya and are setting up their domestic
and personal lives here. They face all the problems
and curiosities common to immigrants and get out of
them with humour and ingenuity. I think it's going to
be interesting. And I plan to get investors to film the
series.
RC: I hope to be able to enjoy watching the
series about adventures in Mahmutlar soon.
Going back to the origins of your stand-up
career, how did you develop as a comedian?
What contributed to this?
AL: I have loved performing on stage in front of my
friends or relatives since I was a child. I read a lot of
humorous stories, memorised sketches which I later
showed, and later began to write myself.
